— Rob Da Bank
2012 sees the highly respected Gentleman’s Dub Club (GDC) back on the road for a 24 date UK Tour. For those not yet familiar with GDC, the super tight 9-piece have gained notoriety since their conception in 2006 for being one the liveliest most invigorating bands to emerge from the UK leading to recognition from the likes of David Rogan: “I’ve seen them in session, they blew the place away”.
Earlier in the year the Gents released the ‘Open your Eyes’ EP on ranking records which has yet to leave the top 20 reggae albums on iTunes and has been supported by DJs and radio from Japan to Germany. With a busy writing schedule this year, the coming tour will be the first opportunity the gents have had to play live and excitement levels are running high!
As Percussion & Synth player Niall Lavelle put’s it:
“As much as we like playing the big festival stages our roots are in the club. It’s hard to beat connection you get with the audience from some of these places. It’s been too long since the ‘High Grade’ Tour so I can’t wait to get out there and test the new material alongside some of the old classics.”
The lads have been working hard on new material and introducing new instruments and sounds into the set. Only the Outlook Festival goers that made it to Croatia have seen the Gents in action this summer and the set has developed into a whole new beast making this an unmissable event to end the year.
